Mr. Massoud has a broad experience in the Aviation industry as he was the Minister of Civil Aviation of Egypt during the period from 7th of December 2011 till the 1st of August 2012, also he was the Chairman & CEO of EGYPTAIR Holding Company from 1st September 2009 till 6th of December 2011, before that he was the Vice Chairman of EGYPTAIR Holding Company since April 2008. He also chaired Smart Aviation Company and he was Chairman of the Board of Directors of (LSG) Sky Chefs Egypt.

Mr. Massoud had strong regional and international positions as he was a Member of the IATA Board of Governors from 2009 till 2011, Member of IATA Strategies and Policies Committee (SPC) for a period of three years and Member of IATA Nomination Committee. The Chairman of Arab Air Carriers Organization (AACO) in 2009, the Chairman of the African Airlines Association (AFRAA) for two years. Also he was a Board Member of the Arab Organization for Industrialization and Board Member of the National Institute of Transport.

Mr. Massoud spent the first 22 years of his career in the Egyptian Air Force during which he held many leading positions including 3 years in the Egyptian Embassy in Paris. Furthermore, Mr. Massoud was honored with the Medal of outstanding Service "First Grade" from the Egyptian Armed Forces, Medal of Merit from the French Government "Officer Degree" and Medal of Outstanding Duty Performance "First Grade" in 1973 War.

Mr. Massoud has a Master degree of Business Administration from ESC Rennes University, France, a Master degree of Science from the American University in Cairo and a Diploma in Material Engineering from the same university. He got his first academic degree of B.Sc. Mechanical Engineering (Aviation) in 1970.
