Alsafwa Aviation Association Holds

E-IOSA Seminar

Alsafwa Aviation Association held a seminar on the Enhanced IOSA (E-IOSA) program, issued by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) for auditing aviation safety. The seminar was held in cooperation with one of the international institutions in the field of aviation sponsored Maintenance Company.

The seminar, presented the key elements of the E-IOSA program, the changes associated with its implementations and its impact on civil aviation industry. The E-IOSA topic showed popularity amongst Egyptian aviation stakeholders as it aims at assisting airlines to achieve highest level of aviation safety.

From his side, Engineer Abu Taleb, Chairman & CEO of EGYPTAIR Maintenance & Engineering Company, the official sponsor of the seminar, confirmed that his company’s expertise are fully capable and technically equipped to continually support the airlines in Egypt to achieve and maintain highest levels of air safety. Abou Taleb praised the role of Alsafwa Aviation Association in spreading the safety culture in the field of civil aviation using its wide accumulated experience and know-how of its 600 members.

In his presentation, Eng Mohamed Sami, Accountable Manager, EGYPTAIR Maintenance and Engineering, highlighted the role of EGYPTAIR Maintenance to provide technical support services to the airlines to help qualify for such advanced programs as E- IOSA.

Alsafwa Chairman, Eng. Hussein Massoud, indicated that this seminar is a implementation recommendations Safety and Sustainability Conference, held by Alsafwa last April. He confirmed that Alsafwa will continue to be a key partner with the official governmental bodies in developing and supporting such activities that aim at enhancing the civil aviation tool helping of the of Aviation industry in Egypt.

“The seminar is mainly aimed at supporting the airlines and to helping them identify the requirements of E- IOSA program which is planned to be applied starting next September. Moreover, it helps connect airlines with service providers of international professional organizations in the fields of aviation safety auditing and certification. Such links and cooperation schemes are meant to assist airlines to implement the requirements of IOSA/E-IOSA program to pass the IATA audits, as well as qualifying local cadres to become capable of auditing their own and other airlines” added Massoud.

In this respect, it is worth mentioning that Alsafwa has actually managed to enroll 13 highly qualified pilots and engineers in an internationally accredited training program that certified them as IOSA Airline Auditors.

“This team of auditors will join the existing expertise specialized and qualified to help airlines run their internal auditing processes and produce their conformity reports for preparations for IOSA external auditing exercises” said Massoud.

Finally, Alsafwa announced its coming conference within its initiative for Aviation Sustainability, which will be held during the second quarter of 2016 focusing on “Aviation Security and Sustainability”.
